Baron - A brand sold by the Japan Electronics Retailers Cooperative Purchasing Organization (JEMS), a joint venture of 12 major electronics retailers across Japan (the label described them as "first-class large electronics stores"!). Founded in 1971, the JEMS chain saw a decline in member stores due to competition from large national chains. It was rebranded as "Max" in 1999, but appears to have disappeared after 2000.
